筆者は経済に詳しいと見られているが、留学先で学んだのは国際関係論だ。官僚の行動原理も知り尽くしている。一般の経済学者の語り口とは、おのずと違う議論になるが、すべての議論の背景には計算によって導き出した根拠がある。
かつての常識が無意味化する世界で、日本だけが際立って安定しているのはなぜか？そこで蔓延る批判ありきの悲観論を一刀両断。これが数値で証明された日本の現在と未来だ！
世の中の事象は、おおよそほとんどの場合、確率で解き明かすことが出来る。それにもかかわらず、出てきた結果に対して「理不尽」と感じるのはどうしてだろうか？それは自らの思考が「感情」や「願望」に支配されているからだ。つまり理不尽とは「期待した通りではなかった」ときに生じる後付の理由に等しいのである。（2ページ）
こうした現象を、合理的な結果に至らなかったという意味で「非合理」と呼ぶ。世界に理不尽はないが、非合理は常に起きている。しかし非合理に対しても、数字やデータの精度を高めたり、数式の応用や組み合わせで予測の確率を高めることはできる。（4ページ）

中国の国家統計局が公表する経済成長率は2012年から”小刻み”に低下しているが（中略）、好転は難しい。貿易統計データしか信頼できる判断材料がないとはいえ、中国経済が当分の間、低迷する確率は高いといえる。（45ページ）
（人民元が）国際通貨になるためには、発行国が経済大国であり、発達した健全な為替・金融市場を有し、対外取引の自由が保証されているといった要件を満たしていなければならない。
