It is a very impressive work, but the process of the protagonist rising from his struggles and reaching the final fighter battle feels inadequate.
On the other hand, the new Maverick has credibility and successfully portrays a fighter battle that is suitable for entertainment.
I think Tom Cruise is one of the greatest actors, and if he became president, he could be the greatest president in U.S. history.

春らしさも感じられる。3月中旬には東京で桜が咲くらしい。
入学や入社のシーズンでもある春には、気持ちがそわそわとしてくる。
私は春より冬の方が好きだ。
朝、寒い部屋から出るのが億劫に感じるのが好きなのだ。
さて、天気の話はこれくらいにして、今日の話題はトップガンだ。
昨日は1986年公開の映画「トップガン」をAmazonビデオで見た。
同じ俳優のトム・クルーズ主演で37年前の続編が制作されるのは驚きだ。
旧作の物語前半では主人公のマーヴェリックが自信満々な大胆な行動を取るが、後半では事故で親友を失ったことによる苦悩をコントラストとして描きだしている。
ラストはF-14とミグによる戦闘機バトルで大団円を迎える。
非常に見ごたえのある作品なのだが、主人公が苦悩から立ち上がり、最後の戦闘機バトルに至る過程が不自然に感じる。
一方、新作のマーヴェリックは説得力があり、エンターテインメントとしてふさわしい戦闘機バトルを描くことに成功している。
トム・クルーズは偉大な俳優であり、大統領になったら合衆国史上最強の大統領になるかもしれないと思う。
